Privatization technical assistance project financed by European Union grant and run by the General Directorate of Privatization realized in 2006 an exhaustive national survey about the privatized enterprises and productive units and on a sample of employees released after privatization, restructuring and liquidation operations.

The survey’s objective is, mainly, to follow up privatized enterprises’ situation in order to make sure that they put into effect the contractual obligations mentioned in the “specifications book”. These obligations are social and economic with the aim to:
- To keep employees and preserve their rights;
- To guarantee the company's sustainability.

Concerning released employees, the survey’s target is to have an idea about their present situation specially those under 50 years old.

The present document summarizes the main conclusions of the national survey on privatized units and enterprises in Tunisia.
